A First Course in Complex Analysis
Jan zilll, Adam Lantos rated it it was amazing. A book full of intuition. It’s better than most if not all the other complex analysis books out there, although it is mostly useful understanding what the hell you are doing. Denbis only proofs here are the ones that are not lengthy and contribute to the understanding. This book is a gem for everybody who wants to build some intuition on complex analysis but it should not be thought of as a main textbook that can be used for a complex analysis course either on the pure math side or the applied m A book full of intuition.
This book is a gem for everybody who wants to build some intuition on complex analysis but it should not be thought of as a main textbook that can be used for a complex analysis course either wnalysis the pure math side or the applied math side ; it works best as a supplement that’s there to deepen the reader’s understanding.
It contains helpful graphs and figures, offers explanations on nearly every concept that it tries to teach the reader and it’s full of applications from physics and engineering. It does not shy away from more “abstract” applications like Quantum Mechanics, which is another one of its strong points. Furthermore, most of the applications are carefully chosen anslysis that they contributes mathematically and intuitively.
Feb 27, James rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Math majors and others so inclined. This book was a fairly good introduction to the study of the complex numbers and functions of the complex numbers.
One annoying feature that it had was that there were times that it stated a theorem and then proceeded without giving a proof of the theorem, not even in the copmlex. Other than analysia however it’s useful and instructive. Dec 06, Wakeel Ahmed added it.
